Neigetsu is a Japanese calligrapher and educator whose work explores the relationship between writing, the body, and Eastern thought.
After graduating from the University of Tokyo (Faculty of Education), she began studying classical calligraphy in depth in her twenties. Her practice is rooted in the study of historical calligraphy masters such as Wang Xizhi, Mi Fu, and Wang Duo.
Based in Tokyo, she runs the calligraphy studio Shujuku Hanakurenai. Through calligraphy workshops, lectures, and writing, she creates spaces where creativity, breathing, and awareness can be experienced through the act of writing.
Her work connects calligraphy, embodiment, and cultural thought, and her programs have been offered at schools, cultural institutions, temples, and hospitality venues.
She is also a nationally certified English-speaking tour guide in Japan and has completed RYT200 yoga teacher training.
